Double Fudge Chocolate Cake (x4 scale)

A great birthday cake for chocolate lovers

Scale: x0.25 | x0.5 | x1 | x1.5 | x2 | x3 | x4

  • 8 (408 g) large eggs
  • 4 cups (800 g) white granulated sugar
  • 12 cup (114 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups (832 g) vegetable oil
  • 2 cups (256 g) cocoa, packed
  • 2 cups (454 g) buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp, 1 tsp (20 g) vanilla extract

Beat in order, adding ingredients one at a time

  • 2 quarts, 1 cup (1.125 kg) all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp (38 g) baking soda
  • 2 Tbsp (30 g) baking powder
  • 2 quarts, 1 cup (1.125 kg) all-purpose flour

Sift together and add to liquid mixture

Place mixture in two prepared, round 9” cake pans.

Sprinkle with ½ cup chocolate chips.

Bake for 25 minutes.
